THE CONCEPT OF DOMINION
📖 Genesis 1:26–28
Preacher: Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Okronipa
Date: 31/01/2025
WHAT IS DOMINION?
-
Dominion comes from the Hebrew word Radah.
-
Radah means to rule, reign, govern, tread down, or exercise authority.
-
Dominion is the reason for the creation of man.
-
Dominion is over the works of creation, not to lord over men.
-
Dominion means to be in control and influence your world.
-
It means ruling over death, poverty, and economic hardship — they are meant to be subject to you.
-
Dominion is choosing to be a prevailing force wherever you are.
-
In simple terms, dominion means influencing your world.
📖 Exodus 9:1 — Israel exercised dominion.
📖 Genesis 31:1 — Dominion is supernatural increase and takeover by God’s power.
GOD’S INTENTION FOR DOMINION
-
God desires that His people dominate and expand their sphere in every area.
-
Dominion means increase in influence, authority, and impact.
-
The presence of God must never be taken for granted — dominion flows from His presence.

Praise and Thanksgiving Is a Weapon

Praise is not just music — it is spiritual warfare.
-
Thanksgiving changes atmospheres and situations.
-
When believers praise, God moves.

Brings supernatural breakthroughs
-
Changes sorrow into joy
Praise is powerful because God dwells in praise.
Benefits of Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Praise and Thanksgiving Is the Will of God
God desires gratitude, not complaining.
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:18 — “In everything give thanks…”
2. Praise and Thanksgiving Brings Multiplication
Whatever you thank God for increases.
📖 Jeremiah 30:19
Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving,
and I will multiply them.
Thanksgiving → Multiplication
Complaining → Reduction
3. Praise and Thanksgiving Brings Honour
Those who thank God are lifted.
📖 Jeremiah 30:19
“And they shall not be few… and I will glorify them.”
Thanksgiving leads to:
-
Honour
-
Increase
-
Elevation

Preacher: Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Okronipa
SCRIPTURES
Psalm 92:1–5
Psalm 116:12
Luke 17:17–18
KEY THOUGHTS
-
Thanksgiving is the believer’s response to God’s goodness.

Appreciation is recognizing the full worth of God and valuing what He has done.
-
Ingratitude blocks blessings; thanksgiving multiplies them.
6 WAYS TO APPRECIATE GOD
1. Thanksgiving Prayers
-
Speak appreciative words to God.
-
Thank Him intentionally and personally.
-
Don’t assume gratitude — express it in prayer.
2. Share Your Testimonies
📖 Luke 17:17–18 — “Where are the other nine?”
-
Be someone who returns to tell what God has done.
-
Thank Him one by one for every blessing.
-
Testimony is an act of appreciation.
3. Using Songs and Psalms
-
Worship and praise songs express gratitude.
-
Sing of His goodness, mercy, and faithfulness.
-
Psalms are tools for thanksgiving.
4. With a Dance
-
Dance is a prophetic act of joy and gratitude.
-
Thanksgiving is not silent — it is expressive.
5. With Instruments

Musical instruments are tools of thanksgiving.
-
They celebrate God’s greatness and goodness.
6. With a Thanksgiving Offering
-
Giving is a strong expression of appreciation.
-
Offerings communicate value and honour to God.
-
Thanksgiving is incomplete without giving.
CONCLUSION
Thanksgiving is not just a day — it is a lifestyle.
When believers pray thankfully, testify, sing, dance, play instruments, and give, they honor God and attract greater blessings.
Those who appreciate well experience perfection and increase.
